history
The Alberti metro station went into operation together with the section between Plaza de Mayo and Plaza Miserere on December 1, 1913. Originally equipped with two side platforms offset from one another , the underground trains stopped in both directions. The color of the station was and is black, some with brown stripes. The walls are tiled in white or beige.
Similar to the neighboring Pasco station, the operating company closed the relocated side platform for trains to the east on August 6, 1953, while the side platform for trains to the west remained in operation. The reasons for the closure can only be speculated. Most likely the short distance between the neighboring stations is the reason. While the platform served as a warehouse during the time of the state operating company SBASE , the private operating company Metrovías decided to set up a substation there.
In 1997 the metro station was classified as a national historical monument (monumento histórico nacional) .
