The station is located under Eschersheimer Landstrasse at the intersection with Holzhausenstrasse and is served by the U1, U2, U3 and U8 underground lines. The junctions Hauptwache , Konstablerwache and Willy-Brandt-Platz can be reached from here with the short-haul tariff.

The Westend campus of the University of Frankfurt and the Holzhausenviertel are close to the station .

architecture

On October 4, 1968, the station was opened with the commissioning of the first section of the A-line from the main guard to the north-west town. The subway station itself is kept in the simple style of the 1960s, straight lines and right angles determine the design. Like all the stations in the first construction phase of the Frankfurt U-Bahn, it has two side platforms of medium width, each of which is connected to the distribution level (“B level”) via two fixed and one escalator. The station has four exits.

In contrast to the other tunnel stations on the A route, the station had a coffered ceiling in which the lighting was embedded (see picture from 2004). However, this was removed in 2007 when elevators were installed and replaced by a standard suspended ceiling made of grid panels.
