MME U80601

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The U80601 is a replica of the Intel 80286 - microprocessor of the VEB microelectronics "Karl Marx" Erfurt , by means of reverse engineering was developed and manufactured. It was developed from 1986 and in series production from 1989. The U80601 was fully compatible with its model 80286. The first functional models were still housed in a ceramic housing (LCCC-68) (type designation U80601RA04), the processors from series production were delivered in a PLCC -68 plastic housing (type designation U80601PC08). This CPU was developed because the already existing 16-bit CPU U8001 was not used for productionIBM-compatible personal computer according to the AT standard could be used.

It was used in the 3-processor variant ( U880 , U8001 and U80601) of the P8000 Compact computer , the successor to the P8000. It should also be used in the successor to the EC1834 , the Robotron EC1835 . Since the series production had to struggle with many difficulties, very few processors of this type were ever installed.

At the time of the public presentation (see sources), the U80600 microprocessor system included the following circuits:
