The Unione Sportiva Vibonese Calcio is an Italian football club from Vibo Valentia in Calabria . The association was founded in 1928.
Vibonese had the greatest success with promotion to the C2 series in 2005/06. In the 1996/97 season they won the Regional Italian Cup and in 1998 the Regional Italian Super Cup. For a long time they were active under the name SS Nuova Vibonese . They currently play in the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione , the fourth highest division in Italian football.

The association was founded from the merger of the two associations Ischia Monteleone and Luigi Razza . They changed their name for a short time to Diavoli Rossi Vibo and then again to US Vibonese . In the beginning they only played in unofficial games and tournaments. In 1945/46 you took part in an official tournament for the first time. The club's first ascent was in the 1950/51 season. 1957/58 they reached the first place and thus the promotion to the IV series, the then fourth highest division of Italian football. The club US Vibonese went bankrupt in 1960 and was re-established as Gruppo Sportivo Hipponion , in 1961 they changed the name to Oratorio Salesiano Vibo . In the season 1963/64 the name of the club was changed again, this time to SS Nuova Vibonese . Between 1973 and 1978 you played in Serie D , from which you rose again in 1998 (then CND). After the 2003/04 season the club got its old name Unione Sportiva Vibonese again . Since 2006 they have been playing in the fourth highest division in Italy.
