The Series C 2018/19 was the fifth season of the third highest Italian league for football men. It started late on September 16, 2018 and ended on May 5, 2019.

Season course

Before the start of the season

Originally, a regular implementation with 60 teams was planned. Before the start of the season, the SS Fidelis Andria 1928 , the AC Mestre , the Reggio Audace FC and LR Vicenza Virtus filed for bankruptcy. Bassano Virtus eventually moved to Vicenza and merged with LR Vicenza Virtus; the team continues to play under this name. To fill up more places, the newly formed second team from Juventus Turin and the former Serie D clubs Cavese 1919 and Imolese Calcio 1919 also got the right to start. Various teams, such as AS Viterbese Castrense , were reclassified in the group system. Viterbese had refused to play for this reason, among other things, but played the first game of the season on November 3, 2018.

Exclusions during the season

Due to financial irregularities, the SS Matera Calcio was punished after deducting eight points in October 2018 at the beginning of February 2019 with the deduction of a further 26 points and after 23 completed games was excluded from the league. The AS Pro Piacenza in 1919 was excluded after 20 league games completed in February 2019 from playing. After strikes by the professional players because of outstanding salary payments, only seven young players were set up in the last game, the team lost 0:20 against AC Cuneo 1905 ; the game was rated 3-0 for Cuneo in retrospect.

Play-outs

The six worst teams from the group stage that had not already been regularly relegated played here in two-legged matches to avoid relegation.

The first legs were played on May 18, the second legs on May 25 and 26, 2019. In the event of a tie after both games, the team with the lower placement in the final table was relegated.
