Massa Fermana is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 913 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Fermo in Marche . The municipality is located about 20 kilometers west of Fermo and borders directly on the province of Macerata .

With Ada Natali , the place had the first female mayor in Italy from 1946 to 1959.
