Petritoli (in the local dialect: Pietrìtulu ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2236 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Fermo in Marche . The municipality is located about 12 kilometers southwest of Fermo . The Aso forms the southern municipal boundary .

history

Petritoli is a foundation of the Farfa Monastery in the 10th century under the name Castel Rodolfo . In 1055 the parish went to the Bishop of Fermo.
