history

After there was organized football in Andria from 1920, the Unione Sportiva Fascista De Pinedo , today's Fidelis Andria , was founded eight years later . The club played in the following years for many years and often changed names. In 1960 they qualified for the first time for the game operation of the series D , but where they relegated after only one year, only to then return directly. Then Andria established something in Serie D and spent the following three years in this division before relegation followed. In 1967 they returned to the fourth division after only one season and stayed there for four years this time. In 1971, however, the club went bankrupt and was re-established as Associazione Sportiva Fidelis Andria .

After the founding of Fidelis Andria, the club was classified by the Italian Football Association in the highest regional league in the Bari region . They played there for five years before they were promoted to the Prima Categoria in 1976, which was then the sixth highest division in Italian football. However, the club had to relegate two years later. In the following season they finished second again in the Seconda Categoria and rose again. This time Fidelis Andria was able to establish himself in the Prima Categoria and in 1984 even made it to the C2 series . After another five years in the fourth division, the club made the leap to Serie C1, today's Lega Pro Prima Divisione , the third division. Here, too, Fidelis Andria achieved good results and they rose to Serie B for the first time two years later, in 1992 . In the first season the club was 16th and thwarted relegation only with luck, while SPAL Ferrara , Bologna FC , Taranto Sport and Ternana Calcio met. In the following season, they even managed to place ninth. Two years later, however, Fidelis Andria had to relegate from Serie B again after the club was fourth from bottom. In the following year, however , the promotion succeeded with a first place in the C1 series before AC Ancona , which also rose. However, it was immediately relegated after only one year. Since then, the club has not been able to rise again to the second highest Italian league and still plays in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione, while the team from Andria was also temporarily found in the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione or the C2 series. In 2009, the leap into the second division was almost successful after AS Andria BAT had reached the play-off games, in which the second to fifth of each Lega Pro Prima Divisione season participated. There the club failed because of Gela Calcio .

After a few more years in midfield of the third Italian football league, AS Andria BAT had to accept relegation to the fourth-class Lega Pro Seconda Divisione in the 2012/13 season. After you finished 13th place in the table in Girona B, you drew the short straw in the playout games against the club SS Barletta Calcio, which was previously placed in 14th place, and had to go into the fourth division. However, since the club did not register to participate in professional operations, a restart in the sixth-class Eccellenza Puglia followed for the 2013/14 season . In conjunction with a league reform, Fidelis Andria managed to move up from the sixth to the third division in just two years. For the Lega Pro 2015/16 , the team qualified first in the Girone H series D 2014/15.
