The Associazione Calcio Gozzano is an Italian football club from Gozzano . The club plays its home games in the Stadio Alfredo d'Albertas , which can seat 1526 spectators. AC Gozzano has never played first or second class and is currently in Serie C , the third highest division in Italy .

history

Today's Associazione Calcio Gozzano was founded around 1921 under the name Club Sportivo Juventus in Gozzano , a municipality with now about 5600 inhabitants within the province of Novara in the northern Italian region of Piedmont .

Until 1924, the newly founded club did not take part in games, but only had rare local appearances in the sporting field. In 1924, the CS Juventus joined the Italian Football Association and was thus entitled to take part in national competitions. However, the club played very poorly and had an inactive phase from 1962 to 1967. From about 1937 the association was now called Associazione Calcio Gozzano .

In the 1978/79 season, the team was promoted to Serie D for the first time ; in the 2010/11 and 2014/15 seasons it reached the category again.

After more than nine decades in the Italian amateur leagues, the club won Group A of Serie D in the 2017/18 season and rose to Serie C , where it reached a professional championship for the first time in its history.
