Udo Bartsch (* 1968 in Hanover ) is a German journalist specializing in board , card and parlor games. He's the editor-in-chief of Spiel yet! and member of the board of the Game of the Year jury .

Life

After completing his teaching degree and legal clerkship in 1997, Bartsch started writing game reviews. It was then that his first review appeared in the gimmick . From 1998 to 2007 he wrote reviews for the player magazine Fairplay . Since then he has also published game reviews in daily newspapers, including the Schleswig-Holsteinische Landeszeitung , the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung and the Stuttgarter Zeitung . Since 2007 he has been a freelancer for the specialist magazine spielbox, which is published in German and English . In 2015 he becomes editor-in-chief of the new magazine Spiel noch! , which, like the spielbox, is published by W. Nostheide Verlag.

Bartsch has been publishing reviews and reports from the gaming scene online at www.rezensions-fuer-millionen.de since 2008 .

In 2008 he became a member of the Spiel des Jahres association and the jury that decides on the game of the year and, from 2011, on the expert game of the year . Since 2009 he has been a member of the board of the Spiel des Jahres eV , first as secretary and later as treasurer.

Award
