Uhm Jung-hwa (born August 17, 1969 in Jecheon ) is a South Korean actress and singer .

life and career

In 1993 Uhm Jung-hwa made his debut in show business and was considered a pop icon in the 1990s. Her younger brother Uhm Tae-woong is also an actor and singer. She became known with films like Marriage Is A Crazy Thing , Princess Aurora and My Lovely Week . In 2002 she published a yoga video.

In spring 2010 she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, which is why she was operated on for the first time in October 2010. In May 2011, she had another operation and the cancer completely removed and she recovered. In 2012 she made her comeback with the film Dancing Queen . In 2013 she won the Daejong Film Prize for the first time as best actress for her role in statute of limitations , after she had previously been nominated three times for other films.
