Ulf Preuss-Lausitz

Ulf Preuss-Lausitz (born September 26, 1940 in Sorau, Brandenburg province , today Żary , Poland) is a German educationalist .

His family came to southern Germany in 1945. He passed his Abitur in Schwäbisch Hall in 1960 and studied at the Esslingen University of Education . From 1962 to 1964 he taught at a secondary school in Esslingen am Neckar , after which he studied at the University of Tübingen and at the Free University of Berlin , where he graduated as a sociologist in 1969.

From 1973 to 1980 he was a professor at the University of Education in Berlin . In 1980 he received his doctorate at the University of Bremen after successfully defending a thesis on the integration of the disabled in mainstream schools. From 1980 until his retirement in 2008 he was professor for school education at the TU Berlin . Preuss-Lausitz has made an outstanding contribution to models for the integration of handicapped and learning-poor students. Another focus of his research was on the chances of boys in the education system and the specifics of work with boys.
