The Uli Biaho Tower is a 6109 m high Pakistani mountain in the central Karakoram .
location
The granite monolith is located in the Baltoro Muztagh and is located on the west side of the Trango glacier in the immediate vicinity of the more famous Trango towers .
The Uli Biaho Peak, a few kilometers further west, can be distinguished from the Uli Biaho Tower .
Ascent history
The summit was first climbed on July 3, 1979 by the Americans Bill Forrest , Ron Kauk , John Roskelley and Kim Schmitz , who tackled the 1100 m high east face of the mountain in alpine style and were successful after ten days.
Before that, in 1974, a French team led by Jean Fréhel had narrowly failed at the north-west pillar.
The 800 m high south face of the mountain was conquered by the Italian rope team Maurizio Giordani , Rosanna Manfrini , Maurizio Venzo and Kurt Walde in a four-day climb in 1988.
