from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ulrich "Uli" Keuler (born December 3, 1952 in Kirchheim unter Teck ) is a German cabaret artist , satirist and author of radio sketches and oral arthropods.

Career

Uli Keuler grew up in Wendlingen am Neckar. He studied rhetoric , German and empirical cultural studies in Tübingen and wrote a dissertation on Häberle and Pfleiderer with Walter Jens . After his first stage experience as a magician, he appeared from 1973 - mainly in Baden-Württemberg - as a comedian and cabaret artist.

When Keuler is not on stage, he spends his time very secluded near Tübingen and on Lake Constance , writing, reading and hiking.

Appearances

Keuler appears almost only in Swabian-speaking areas, as he mainly caricatures these people. He plays many scenes of his imaginary characters over the years, using ostensibly clichés on stage that he embodies, with whom he plays and juggles.

Uli Keuler always appears solo. The microphone and a chair are on the stage. No other props are used.

"The joke"

In most of his appearances, the last encore is told "only" the following joke, which has not changed much over the years (high German translation, the story is told in Swabian):

A man walks through the forest. Suddenly someone jumps in front of him with a pistol and shouts: “Money or life!” Now he didn't have any money with him! If the other one says: “Well, then you just give me your wristwatch!” Now he didn't have a wristwatch with him either! Then the one with the pistol jumps on his back and calls out: "Then just carry me a little!"

The funny element is not in the moderate joke itself, but in the way it is told. Apparently disappointed with the effect at first, Keuler tells him over and over again as if the audience just didn't understand him properly, starts to make various explanations and brings the halls to a boil through penetrating repetition of the same passages of text, until the joke finally turns into a surprising one Another punch line ends and the program ends.
