Uljana Havemann
Uljana Havemann (* 1973 in Berlin ) is a German film director and screenwriter .
Career
Uljana Havemann, granddaughter of the GDR regime critic Robert Havemann , grew up in Berlin. After graduating from high school, she studied theater studies , cultural communication, psychology and German at the Babelsberg Media Academy and the Humboldt University in Berlin . This was followed by engagements at various theaters (including the Berliner Ensemble and the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz ) as well as work as an assistant director and in casting for various television and cinema productions (including Carola Stern - Doppelleben , Führer Ex , Der Grenzer und das Mädchen and Spreewald thriller ). In 2012/13 she completed a postgraduate course in directing at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles .
Her two short films One is Always There and Brooklyn Bridge were each nominated for the Max Ophüls Prize .
Uljana Havemann lives in Berlin with her partner Thomas Kufus .
