Ully Arndt

Ully Arndt (born May 18, 1961 in Hamburg ) is a German comic artist and illustrator .

Life

He was influenced by the German comic magazine Zack , especially the work of Hermann Huppen . At the age of 16 he worked regularly as an editorial assistant and draftsman for the German satire magazine MAD . During his studies at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, design department, he also worked for the stern magazine , the Hamburg scene magazine Tango and for various advertising agencies. During this time he and the author Gunter Baars created the first German comic series about a young computer nerd Kosinus .

After graduating as a qualified designer in 1985 , he worked for a year as an illustrator for the advertising agency Economia until he started his own business with the drawing for the comic series Ottifanten .

In 1991, Arndt and the advertising agency Lintas won the pitch to communicate the conversion from four to five-digit postcodes . Arndt created the mascot for it, the yellow comic hand Rolf .

Ully Arndt lives and works in Hamburg-Altona . Well-known German illustrators such as Isabel Kreitz , Wittek , Calle Claus and Olli Ferreira work and work in his studio .
