Ulrich Borsdorf
Ulrich Borsdorf (born December 2, 1944 in Jüterbog ) is a German historian .
Ulrich Borsdorf studied history , social sciences and German in Freiburg and Bochum . From 1974 to 1978 Borsdorf was a research assistant in the history department at the University of Essen with Lutz Niethammer , and since July 1978 he has worked as an editor of the union monthly . He then worked as a historian in the union-related economic and social science institute . From 1986 until its closure in April 2007 he was director of the Ruhrland Museum in Essen . From 2008 to the end of 2011 he was director of the newly built Ruhr Museum . He is also a member of the board of the Zollverein Foundation.
He is the author of numerous works on the history of the Ruhr area .
