Ulrich Hoffmann (General)

Ulrich Hoffmann (born January 14, 1866 in Köslin , † October 9, 1936 in Halle (Saale) ) was a royal Prussian major general .

Ulrich Hoffmann was the son of the government assessor Ferdinand Hoffmann (1831–1908, syndic at Krupp) and Auguste Hesselbarth (1834–1911). In 1884 he joined the Magdeburg Fusilier Regiment No. 36 in Halle as a flag junior . There he was promoted to lieutenant in 1886. In 1891 he became a district adjutant at the district command in Sangerhausen . In 1899 he returned to his regiment in Halle and was promoted to captain in January 1900 . In 1901 he took over the position of company commander in the 5th Lorraine Infantry Regiment No. 144 in Mörchingen . In 1906 he was assigned to the pension department of the Prussian War Ministry in Berlin . In November 1906 Hoffmann was promoted to major . In 1908 he was transferred to the 1st Army Division. In 1912 he became battalion commander in the 1st Nassau Infantry Regiment No. 87 in Mainz for one year . Then again transferred to the war ministry as department head Z 1. In March 1913, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel . In 1917 he was royal. prussia. Major General and Commander of the 2nd Reserve Replacement Brigade. In October 1918 Hoffmann was chief of the war office , then commander of the infantry schools. On April 1, 1919, he received his departure. Then he was head of department at the Central Agricultural Cooperative of the Province of Saxony .

On October 5, 1893, he married in Halle / S. Charlotte Elmire Mally von Dunker (1872–1921), daughter of Alexander von Dunker and Charlotte Jacob. With her he had three daughters.
