Ulrich Hussong
Ulrich Hussong (* 1953 in Hamburg ) is a German historian and archivist .
Ulrich Hussong studied history, political science and philosophy at the University of Marburg from 1971 to 1978 . After the first and second state examinations for teaching at grammar schools, he received his doctorate in 1984 with an examination of the Fulda abbey . From 1984 to 1986 he trained as an archivist in Darmstadt, Koblenz and at the Marburg archive school .
After that, Hussong was head of the city archive in Duderstadt in 1986/87 , and of the city archive of Marburg from 1988 to 2015 . His work focuses on the history of the city of Marburg, Eichsfeld , Duderstadt, the Fulda Abbey in the Middle Ages, written history, records, city seals and coats of arms, historical auxiliary sciences as well as Wilhelm von Humboldt and Jacob Grimm .
Hussong is a member of the executive board of the Historical Commission for Hesse , which as a scientific society promotes and publishes research into the history of Hesse , and of the Scientific Council of the Brothers Grimm Society e. V. (BGG) in Kassel.
