Ulrich III. von Rosenberg (Czech: Oldřich III. z Rožmberka ; born January 17, 1471 , † November 1513 ) was a Bohemian nobleman. He came from the noble family of the Rosenbergs .

Life

His parents were Johann II. Von Rosenberg and Anna († 1483), daughter of the Glogau duke Heinrich IX. When he was one year old, his father died and the reign went to Ulrich's eldest brother Heinrich . Presumably because of mental inadequacy, Heinrich temporarily involved his younger brother Wok in the government. At the request of Wok and his siblings, their uncle Bohuslav von Schwanberg took over the guardianship of the still underage siblings and the administration of the family assets for six years in December 1475. After Bohuslav in January 1478 by the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus was taken prisoner, took over the regency and thus also the guardianship for Ulrich the second oldest brother Wok.

From 1487 to 1488 Ulrich studied at the University of Bologna with the humanist Filippo Beroaldo the Elder. Ä. (1453-1505). After his return he initially supported his brother Wok in managing the property. After he handed over the reign to his younger brother Peter IV von Rosenberg for health reasons in 1493 , Ulrich, who remained unmarried, entered his service.
