Ulrich Kasten

Ulrich Kasten (born January 10, 1950 in Halberstadt ) is a German politician ( PDS ). From 1994 to 2006 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Education and life

Ulrich Kasten attended the POS from 1956 to 1964 and from 1964 to 1968 completed vocational training with a high school diploma (mechanical engineering) at EOS Halberstadt. From 1968 to 1971 he studied physics and from 1972 to 1976 agricultural sciences at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg . In 1990 he completed the postgraduate course in technical school education at the University of Leipzig . From 1971 to 1972 he worked as a farm worker, until 1978 as a cultivation consultant for the grain industry in Dresden and until 1982 as construction manager of the agricultural museum for the Halle district at the Querfurt Castle and District Museum. Then he was a teacher at the Dresden District Agriculture School until 1987 and a technical college teacher at the Agricultural Engineering School for Experiments in Quedlinburg until 1992. From 1992 to 1994 he was head of public relations, environmental education and training in the Hochharz National Park .

Ulrich Kasten, who is not a denominational member, is married and has two children.

politics

Ulrich Kasten has been a member of the PDS since 2000 and a member of the Halberstadt district association. Since 2004 he has been a member of the city council and the district council of Halberstadt. He was elected to the state parliament via the state list in the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 1994 , 1998 and 2002 . In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for the environment and the committee for housing, urban development and transport.
