Ulrich Lörcher (born January 20, 1869 in Lorch (Württemberg) ; † November 23, 1930 in Untertürkheim ) was a German writer and journalist.

The son of the evangelical Lorcher pastor attended the Latin school in Groß-Bottwar for four years and attended the teachers' seminar at Tempelhof near Crailsheim from 1885 to 1889 . He worked for a year as a teacher at a private school in Mönchengladbach , then went on a trip to Belgium and Holland and then entered the Württemberg school service, in which he was only active for a short time. In 1895 he went to Strasbourg , where he edited the “Sunday Greetings” and from 1898 as editor-in-chief of the “Straßburger Tageblatt”. In 1899 he moved to Kolmar as editor-in-chief of the "Elsässer Tageblatt" , but returned to Strasbourg in 1902 to accept a position as editor in the literary bureau of the imperial ministry . In 1918 he was expelled from Alsace, which had now become French.

He wrote numerous historical stories and also some novels. Rudolf Krauss called Lörcher “a skilled Christian folk teller with a strong Protestant awareness”.

In 1897 he married the writer Erica Grupe-Lörcher .
