Ulrich Schippels

Ulrich Schippels (born March 15, 1963 in Neumünster ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ).

After graduating from high school in Altenholz and doing community service at the German Red Cross in Bellin (Plön district), Schippels studied political science at the University of Kiel ( MA ). According to his own statements, he has been politically active since the late 1970s and cites the following key points: anti-nuclear power movement , peace movement , anti-fascist activities, census boycott .

Since 1991 he has been a member of the PDS (later its successor party Die Linke ) in Schleswig-Holstein and there one after the other: state manager, state treasurer and state election campaign manager. From October 27, 2009 to June 5, 2012, Schippels was a member of the 17th Schleswig-Holstein state parliament and parliamentary manager of his group. In the election to the 18th state parliament , he ran again on a high list position, but his party clearly failed with 2.2 percent of the five percent hurdle . In the 2017 state elections , he took second place on the list. The party did not reach the 5 percent threshold.

He is currently an employee of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Schleswig-Holstein.
