Ulrich Schröder (born August 7, 1961 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Schröder played in the youth division of FC Schalke 04 . With his team, which was looked after by coach Heinz van Haaren , he made the leap to the final of the German B youth championship of the 1977/78 season after winning the championship in the West Regional Association . In the final, the Gelsenkirchen team met FC Hertha 03 Zehlendorf from Berlin. In the Hammer Jahnstadion , Schröder was able to continue his winning streak, the final was clearly won 6-0. He played with Wolfram Wuttke on the offensive in the final , among others . Schröder was German B youth champion. In the years that followed, Schröder successfully played football at youth level. With his teammates, he made it to the final of the German championship again as an A-youth. In the final of the 1979/80 season the opponent was SV Waldhof Mannheim . Before the final of the German A youth championship, Schröder made his debut in the Bundesliga . His A-youth coach Fahrudin Jusufi took over the position of coach at the professional team. On the 32nd matchday of the 1979/80 season he came on as a substitute for Uwe Höfer in the away game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the 60th minute of the 0-2 defeat . In the 1980/81 season , Schröder came to another use in the Bundesliga. In the last game of the season against 1. FC Köln , Schalke was already relegated, he was substituted on for Bernd Thiele in the 1: 2 defeat. Due to injuries, Schröder moved to the amateur camp at 1. FC Recklinghausen .
