Ulrich Timm

Ulrich Timm (born February 16, 1962 in Lüneburg ) is a German journalist and television presenter . He mainly works for tagesschau24 .

Life

After high school and military service, he studied law at the University of Hanover . After his legal clerkship , he passed his second state examination in 1989 .

From 1987 to 1989 he worked as a freelancer for NDR radio and television and “ Neuer Presse ”. After completing an editorial traineeship at NDR in 1990/91, he worked as a program officer for the television program director. From 1997 he was the founding editor of Phoenix , the event and documentation channel of ARD and ZDF , where he was in charge of program planning until 2006. In 2006 he switched to the planning of tagesschau24 (formerly EinsExtra), where he also moderates the talk format “Talk”.

Journalistic work

Since the beginning of his work at Phoenix, besides his work as a planning manager, Timm has also worked as a moderator of the special programs of Phoenix and as an on-site reporter. At tagesschau24 he is the moderator of the political talk "Talk". Main topics are domestic politics , European politics , USA and Asia, environmental politics , social politics or health politics . Ulrich Timm has been teaching media management at the University of Hamburg , media and communication studies since 2008 . Timm is a Fellow of the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship , the "Senior Editors Program" of the RIAS Berlin Commission and a Fellow of the "Leadership" program of the Bertelsmann Foundation .
