Ulrich Vosgerau

Ulrich Vosgerau (* 1974 in Pinneberg ) is a German lawyer and university professor . He is a private lecturer at the University of Cologne .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1994 and military service from 1994 to 1995, Vosgerau studied law at the University of Passau and the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . He was a fellow of studienstiftung . After the first state law examination in Freiburg, he completed a traineeship at the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer , followed by the second state examination in Berlin in 2003. From 2003 to 2006 he worked as a lawyer in Berlin and did his doctorate with Thomas Würtenberger . Since 2006 he has been a research assistant at the seminar for state philosophy and legal policy at the University of Cologne with Otto Depenheuer , from 2007 to 2015 he was an academic advisor.

With his habilitation in 2012, he received the license to teach the subjects of public law, international and European law, general political theory and legal philosophy. Vosgerau was professor at the LMU Munich , the Leibniz University of Hanover , the University of Passau and the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg .

During the refugee crisis in 2015, he spoke up several times and criticized the policies of Chancellor Merkel . With an article in the magazine Cicero in December 2015 under the title “Rule of Injustice”, he coined a word that Federal Interior Minister Seehofer took up in February 2016 and accused Merkel.

Vosgerau is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Desiderius Erasmus Foundation .
