Ulrich von Attems

Ulrich von Attems (* 1082 in Attems , Friuli ; † 1170 ) was an Italian nobleman from the von Attems family . He was temporarily vicar of the Margraviate of Tuscany (today's Tuscany ).

Life

Ulrich von Attems was the son of Konrad von Attems (1052–1106) and Ministerialer to King Konrad III of Staufer . Which itself the heir of Henry V at her. Therefore, he tried 1128 to 1130 against the papal resistance to take possession of the Mathildischen estates . The Welfe Heinrich the Proud received Tuszien from Lothar III. from Supplinburg . Shortly before Heinrich's death in 1139, Ulrich von Attems was appointed by Konrad as vicar of the margraviate of Tuszien. This led to further conflicts between Konrad and the Guelphs. Ulrich subsequently had difficulties in consolidating his power in Tuscany. After Konrad's death in 1152, the Welf Welf VI. in addition to the Duchy of Spoleto , the Margraviate of Tuscien returned. The death of Ulrich von Attem is documented for the year 1170.
