Uma História de Futebol is a Brazilian short film from 1998 with José Rubens Chachá and Antônio Fagundes in the lead roles. It is about the fictional story of a friend from their childhood days in the city of Bauru about the early years of the future football star Pelé . The script is based on the children's book of the same name by José Roberto Torero .

The children's soccer team Sete de Setembro (Eng. September 7th ) from the city of Bauru lives in anticipation of an upcoming final for the Taça Júlio Ramalho against the team from Barão da Noroeste . Coach Landão's great hope is the player Dico (Pelé's childhood nickname). The story is told by Zuza, who is Dico's teammate and also Dico's best friend.

It is the first and so far only Brazilian film to be nominated for an Oscar in the “Short Film” (Live Action) category.
