Umpfenbach is a church village and part of the municipality of Neunkirchen in the Miltenberg district in Bavarian Lower Franconia .

history

The oldest surviving mention of Umpfenbach comes from 1285.

Umpfenbach was a direct imperial rule in the German Empire . It was an enclave in the Miltenberg district .

With the Rhine Confederation Act of 1806, state sovereignty over Umpfendorf fell to the Grand Duchy of Baden . In the autumn of 1810 a triangular deal took place between the French Empire , the Grand Duchy of Hesse and the Grand Duchy of Baden. Baden put its own territories at the disposal of France, which then passed them on to the Grand Duchy of Hesse by means of a state treaty of November 11, 1810. The Hessian ownership patent dated November 13, 1810 and also included Umpfenbach, which at that time belonged to the Counts of Trauttmansdorff .

In 1817 Umpfenbach was ceded to Bavaria by the Grand Duchy of Hesse.
