The Dauersberg substation is one of the largest substations in Germany, operated by Amprion GmbH. It is located in the Altenkirchen district near the Betzdorf district of Dauersberg and has switchgear for 380 kV , 220 kV and 110 kV, which are connected to one another via power transformers .

Importance as a network node

A heavy-duty transformer transport for Amprion , destined for the Dauersberg substation, with a DB class V100 diesel locomotive on the Hellertalbahn between Zeppenfeld and Neunkirchen (November 2018).

Several high-voltage lines converge in this substation , which connect the Rhine-Ruhr and Rhine-Main areas and form an important north-south connection:
