The Dauersberg substation is one of the largest substations in Germany, operated by Amprion GmbH. It is located in the Altenkirchen district near the Betzdorf district of Dauersberg and has switchgear for 380 kV , 220 kV and 110 kV, which are connected to one another via power transformers .
Importance as a network node
Several high-voltage lines converge in this substation , which connect the Rhine-Ruhr and Rhine-Main areas and form an important north-south connection:
- Two 380 kV lines, each with two circuits, lead towards Cologne .
- Two 380 kV lines lead in the direction of Frankfurt am Main , one of them via Limburg an der Lahn and one via Gießen .
- Dortmund is connected via Siegen via 220 kV. As part of EnLAG construction measure 19, this route is to be replaced by a more powerful 380 kV line to Dortmund-Kruckel.
