Coordinates: 47 ° 16 ′ 40 ″ N , 12 ° 44 ′ 23 ″ E
The Substation Tauern is in Salzburg in the communities Kaprun and Piesendorf located substation , which by the Austrian Power Grid is operated (APG). It is one of the four largest network nodes in the Austrian 380 kV high voltage ring and comprises several outdoor switchgear for the national 220 kV and 380 kV transport network. It was put into operation on November 14, 1990 after two and a half years of construction.
The Tauern substation connects the western and eastern high-voltage network in Austria. It also serves to transport electrical energy from the Kaprun storage power stations , which are connected to the substation with two 220 kV overhead lines .
Technical specifications
The substation consists of several outdoor switchgears for 380 kV and 220 kV with a total of eight busbars . Two network coupling transformers with a total output of 1200 MVA and a network coupling transformer with 600 MVA are installed between the 380 kV and 220 kV levels . A phase-shifting transformer with a throughput of 600 MVA is located on the 220 kV level to optimize the load flows .
For static reactive power compensation are two air restrictors with a reactive power of 100 MVAr available.
cables
The following high-voltage lines lead from and to the Tauern substation :
- 380 kV double lines to the substations in Zell am Ziller and Lienz in East Tyrol and the 380 kV Salzburg line, which is being planned in 2010 .
- 220 kV double lines to the Salzach substation in Elixhausen , the substation in Weißenbach near Liezen and the Kaprun storage power stations.
