União the Freguesias de Caparica e Trafaria , shortly Caparica e Trafaria , is a Portuguese parish ( freguesia ) in the district ( Concelho ) of Almada with 16.74 km² and a population of 26,171 (2011).

history

The municipality was created in the course of the regional reform of September 29, 2013 by merging the former municipalities of Caparica and Trafaria . Caparica became the seat of the new administration.
