Martin Elmar Schmid
Martin Elmar Schmid , CMM , (born October 28, 1913 in Dewangen ; † June 18, 1980 ) was a German religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Mariannhill .
Life
Martin Elmar Schmid joined the Congregation of the Missionaries of Mariannhill in and received on 24 April 1938, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On May 21, 1970 Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Mariannhill. The Archbishop of Cape Town , Owen Cardinal McCann , donated him episcopal ordination on October 10 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Durban , Denis Eugene Hurley OMI , and the Bishop of Umtata , Ernst Heinrich Karlen CMM.
