The old fishing village of Nest, which used to be near the open sea, was destroyed by a storm in 1552 and then rebuilt closer to Lake Jamunder. The place is protected from north and northeast winds by dunes rising up to about 30 meters. In 1784 there were 22 fishermen, a schoolmaster and 24 fireplaces (households) in Nest. The fishermen practiced coastal and deep sea fishing on the Baltic Sea and in summer also fishing on Lake Jamunder. Peat was used as fuel, which was cut in the Puddemdorfer Moor .

In the 19th century, Nest was also known as a modest seaside resort. In 1910 there was a hotel with 23 rooms and guest rooms in private houses. After the First World War , there were also three guest houses available to bathers. The fishing port also served as a marina for sailing boats in the summer.

During the Second World War in a nest was air base set up, were formed on the pilots for sea-combat aircraft.

Towards the end of the Second World War, Nest got caught in a cauldron during the war in the spring of 1945 and was finally captured by the Red Army . Subsequently, the region - like all of Western Pomerania - was placed under Polish administration. The German place Nest now received the Polish name Unieście . In the following months the Alteinwohner from the nest were sold .
