content

After dropping out of school after the 10th grade of the grammar school in Neubrandenburg and moving to Frankfurt am Main, the two then 20-year-old young men decided in May 2010 to give up their apartment and pursue their music as street musicians without a permanent residence. From then on, Zielke and Gottstein were accompanied by a film team from director Sobo Swobodnik for two years. The film thematizes the deep connection of the band members with their music and their life on the street, but above all the loyal friendship of the two young men.

criticism

The journalist Bettina Dark writes in the youth platform On3 of Bayerischer Rundfunk : "But despite all the ideals: At some point encounter the two young survivor to their limits. The documentary by writer and filmmaker Sobo Swobodnik shows this creeping process. "

“The result is an impressive documentary about two young men who unconditionally love life and their music. Swobodnik succeeds in capturing the Guaia Guaia attitude towards life - without any unnecessary pathos. (...) Aside from street romance, he also devotes himself to the quiet moments and imponderables in the life of the two 22-year-olds, for example when Elias falls ill with pneumonia without health insurance or the winter quarters are repeatedly evacuated by the police. The film "UNPLUGGED: LEBEN" tells the story of two passionate musicians, but it is also an ode to friendship - and to freedom. "
