The Untere Gaisalpsee is a high mountain lake at an altitude of 1508 meters in the Allgäu Alps , northeast below the Rubihorn ( 1957 m ). The 3.5 hectare lake drains through the Gaisalpbach to the Iller .
The lake is on the hiking trail from Reichenbach to Nebelhorn over the Gaisalpe, Lower and Upper Gaisalpsee , Gaisfußsattel, Großer Gund and Edmund-Probst-Haus .
The cirque and the two lakes are designated by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment as a valuable geotope (geotope number: 780R003).
