history

On May 25, 1890, the German and Austrian Alpine Association inaugurated the 33rd mountain hut in the Northern Eastern Alps as a Nebelhornhaus and named it after him in 1918 after the death of his section chief Edmund Probst . The mountain hut is easily accessible in an avalanche-proof location at the foot of the summit upswing and had to be enlarged again and again, so that some now speak of a mountain house . Since 1930 the house has been connected to the Nebelhornbahn .
