The Unterschleißheimer See is a bathing lake in the landscape protection area of the Unterschleißheim district of Riedmoos in the district of Munich .
description
The Unterschleißheimer See was planned from the beginning as a bathing lake and local recreation area. When excavating gravel for the Munich - Deggendorf motorway construction in 1979, work was already being carried out on a lake basin. In 1980 the work was finished and the lake was converted into a local recreation area for a lot of money. In 1983 it was opened to the public. The people who live around the lake were happy about the beautiful area and so the Unterschleißheimer See has developed into one of the most popular lakes around Munich.
The lake is 7.9 hectares in size (460 m long and 150 m wide) and between 9 and 14 m deep. At the lake there is a 47,000 m² sunbathing area with bathing facilities on a gently sloping sandy beach, a beach volleyball court , a sand playground and a restaurant with a beer garden . The bathing area is monitored during the bathing season from May 15 to September 15 by the Unterschleißheim local group of the Bavarian Red Cross .
Directions
By car on the A92 motorway to the Unterschleißheim exit and then to Unterschleißheim. The better alternative, however, is the S1 S-Bahn to Unterschleißheim and then another two kilometers by bike.
environment
An ecological compensation zone was created. For during the breeding season homing seabirds there are already areas . The lake is surrounded by a wet biotope and is managed by the "Fischereiverein Unterschleißheim eV". This area takes up around a third of the lake.
