Unterweilnbach is a village in the Weilnbachtal , a right side valley of the lower Isar valley , through which the Gottfriedinger Bach (on old maps also Weilenbach ) flows, which also flows through the village. It is 700 meters below the hamlet of Oberweilnbach and 1100 meters above the village of Frichlkofen . Like the neighboring villages mentioned, it belongs to the Gottfrieding municipality and district . The population was only 63 on November 1, 2010, after 76 on November 2, 2004 (each including secondary residence). The last census on May 25, 1987 showed a population of 66 (primary residence only).

Barrows and finds from linear ceramics indicate that the area was settled in the Hallstatt period.

According to the statistics of Joseph von Hazzi on the Duchy of Baiern from 1808, the village of Unterweillnbach with 8 houses and just as many hearths belonged to the Obmannschaft Günz and Fruchtchlkofen .

In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , with the municipal edict of 1818 , Unterweilnbach came to the municipality of Frichlkofen, and with this was incorporated into the municipality of Gottfrieding in 1823/24.

Since 2001 the Poco Hill Spring Festival , a music festival for country music , has been held in the town every year .
