history

Until the church is planted

The area around Gottfrieding was already settled around 1000 BC. Witnesses from this period are the burial mounds from the Hallstatt period in Ottenkofen and Unterweilenbach.

Gottfrieding was first mentioned in a document in 902 as Guotfriedinga .

Other districts also have a long history: In 927 the village of Wilpach, today's Weilnbach, was mentioned in a document. In the 6th century, when the Bavarians came to the Isar Valley, new settlements such as Hackerskofen, Ottenkofen, Frichlkofen, Holzhausen and Daibersdorf were founded. As an interest-bearing Hofmark , Gottfrieding belonged to the noble Mr. Seemann zu Mangern in the 14th century and to the Count of Ortenburg in the 15th century . The lordship over Gottfrieding belonged to the Aldersbach monastery from 1637 until the secularization in 1803 . The place was part of the Electorate of Bavaria , but formed a closed Hofmark, which was abolished in 1803 with the monastery.

In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , the original municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 . In 1823/24 most of the municipality of Frichlkofen with the districts of Frichlkofen, Golding, Tichling, Oberweilnbach, Unterweilnbach and the corridors of the then non-existent Hacklberg were incorporated into the municipality of Gottfrieding. Kaltenberg came to Frauenbiburg and Reitholz in Griesbach .

20th and 21st centuries

On January 1, 1946, the Hackerskofen community was dissolved and incorporated into the Gottfrieding community.

In November 2007, the majority of the citizens voted against the dissolution and integration of Gottfrieding into the district town of Dingolfing , as proposed by a citizens' initiative .
