Until My Funerals Began is a funeral doom band founded in 2007 .

history

In Donetsk living multi-instrumentalist Timur "Rumit" Mityukov founded Until My Funerals Began as a solo project in 2007. The following year, the debut album was released Cemeteries Flowers on Satanarsa Records . For the production of the second album, Mityukov expanded the project to include bassist Mykola "NGL" Levanchuk and singer Sergiy "Coroner" Titov. Mityukov was previously active with both of them in the Death Doom group Кровь на Алтаре (Blood upon the Altar). As a trio, Until My Funerals Began released Silent Time Noise Behind the Window in 2011 and the EPs May 2, 2013 and May 2, 2014, which were specially made available for download in 2013 . The other releases of the project, however, denied Mityukov again alone, including the album False Horizion , which was again released via Silent Time Noise , the split album In Memoriam with Abysmal Growls of Despair and In Lacrimaes et Dolor and various download publications released via GS Productions .

style

The music of Until My Funerals Began is assigned to the Funeral Doom . The webzine Doom-Metal.com describes the music of the project as an extremely depressive variant in the tradition of popular performers such as Funeral , Thergothon , Longing for Dawn , Lake of Depression and Remembrance . Meanwhile, Mityukov names My Dying Bride as a central influence and released several covers of  well-known pieces by the band.

Until My Funerals Began's music is based on the classic funeral doom of "monolithic drumming, hypnotic riffing and monumental growling ". A heavy and cold atmosphere, in which melancholy and dark ambient sound areas are perceived as decisive, is attributed to the project. The way in which the synthesizer is used is emphasized as unusual in the genre and therefore characteristic of Until My Funerals Began. This would be close to the Krautrock . "Although a keyboard that produces organ-like sounds and delicate piano tracks is not particularly new in Funeral Doom, the keyboard here is used to produce the best possible room-filling atmosphere in the songs."
