Upotte !! ( Japanese. う ぽ っ て !! ) is a manga written and drawn by Kitsune Tennōji , which has been published in Young Ace magazine since July 2009 and in Shōnen Ace magazine since June 2011 . The focus of the plot are the students of the Seishō school, who are personifications of firearms . Accordingly, the name of the manga is derived from the word teppō ( て っ ぽ う , dt. "Rifle (s)"), written backwards in hiragana .

Based on the manga, an adaptation was made as a Yonkoma series, which is published in the magazine 4-Koma Nano Ace . An anime television series of the same name was also created in 2012 , which was animated by Studio Xebec and directed by Takao Kato .

action

The ongoing story focuses on the students of the Seishō School ( 青 錆 学園 , Seishō Gakuen , German " Grünspan School"). They are all personifications of firearms and inherit the properties and behaviors said to be weapons. They are shown as schoolgirls who can use the weapon they symbolize at any time. The student Funco, who represents a Belgian FN FNC from Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre , and her classmates Ichiroku, Eru and Sig, play an essential leading role . Like all middle school students, she and her classmates are assault rifles , while the lower school students are submachine guns and the High school students large-caliber rifles ( 7.62 x 51mm NATO ) are.

The humorous action sections concentrate primarily on the points of criticism and sometimes embarrassing features of the weapons. Funco ( ふ ん こ , Funko )
She is a student with a rather reserved character and is the main character of Upotte !! . Because the other characters around her usually commit one stupid thing after the other, she is ultimately always the one who has to stand up for it. In the series she embodies a Belgian FN FNC and actually doesn't like to be called Funco because of that. She is also repeatedly embarrassed to wear a thong instead of normal underwear, since a real FN FNC has a hollow shaft ( skeletal buttocks ). In humorous scenes she always gets angry if she is asked about it.
Ichiroku ( い ち ろ く , Ichiroku , German "1-6")
She is Funco's best friend and has a very energetic personality, although she usually does not hold back in her choice of words and speaks in an Ōsaka dialect . As a weapon, it embodies an American M16A4 assault rifle , which has many fans and, like all M16 models, has to pose for various weapon magazines again and again.
Elle ( え る , Eru )
She is a classmate who is also close to Funco and Ichiroku's roommate. As a weapon, it symbolizes a British L85A1 assault rifle.
