The Urkan ( Russian Уркан, Правый Уркан ) is a right tributary of the Seja in the Amur Oblast in the Far East of Russia . To distinguish it from the left tributary of the same name of the Seja on its upper reaches, the river is also known as the "Right Urkan".
The Urkan arises at the confluence of its source rivers Bolshoi Urkan (left, "Großer Urkan") and Maly Urkan (right, "Kleiner Urkan"). Both source rivers arise in the Tukuringra Mountains . The Urkan flows mainly in an easterly direction through the Amur-Seja plain and flows into the Seja on the right after 304 km. The Urkan drains an area of 16,200 km². 34 km above the mouth, the mean discharge (MQ) is 103 m³ / s. Larger tributaries are Tynda and Arbi , both from the left.
