Urs Rauber

Urs Rauber (* 1948 in Breitenbach SO ) is a Swiss journalist and writer .

Life

Rauber attended the Einsiedeln Abbey School and then enrolled to study history , journalism and modern German literature at the University of Zurich and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He completed this in 1985 with a dissertation on Swiss industry in Russia and an associated doctorate .

Rauber gained his first journalistic experience at a union newspaper. In 1987 he got a job with the Swiss Observer . For this he worked as an editor until 2001 before moving to the NZZ am Sonntag in the same position . In addition, he was responsible for the supplement “Books on Sunday”. He retired at the end of September 2015. In March 2017, he was elected President of the Zurich Quarters Wiedikon .

Urs Rauber is married, has two sons and lives in Zurich.
