The Urup ( Russian Уру́п ) is a left tributary of the Kuban in the northern Caucasus ( Russia ).
It is 231 kilometers long and rises near the village of Urup on the slopes of the Greater Caucasus at an altitude of 3232 m . The city of Armavir lies at the mouth of the river in the Kuban . Up to the Stanitsa Udobnaja , the Urup is a high mountain river, while it flows further down through flat terrain.
The Urup is fed with rainwater, among other things, with the level being highest in June and July due to frequent heavy rain.
