The Ussuri Bay ( Russian Уссурийский залив ) is a bay in the Sea of Japan east of Vladivostok .
In the west it borders on the Muravyov-Amursky peninsula , which separates it from the Amur Bay and at the southern end of which is Vladivostok. On the eastern bank of the bay are the Shkotovo Rajon , the city of Bolshoi Kamen and the west of the Fokino district . The northern tip is reached from the eastern suburbs of the city of Artyom .
The bay has no geographical connection with the Ussuri River , but was named after it when the region became part of the Russian Empire in the 19th century.
Today parts of the Russian Pacific Fleet are stationed on the east side of the bay, in the Bolshoi Kamen – Fokino area.
