The Ust-Ilimsk reservoir ( Russian Усть-Илимское водохранилище ) is a reservoir on the Angara in Irkutsk Oblast , Siberia , Russia ( Asia ).

The reservoir is located in the south of the Central Siberian Mountains a few kilometers north or downstream of the town of Bratsk on the Angara and Bratsk reservoirs . Its barrier structure was built at the northern end of the Ust-Ilimsk reservoir near Ust-Ilimsk . It was an important part of the development of the Angara-Yenisei region.

The storage volume of the 1873 km² large Ust-Ilimsk reservoir, whose average depth is 31.7 m, comprises 59.30 km³. Its hydropower plant , which was completed in 1977 , has an output of 4,320 MW .

The Ilim is one of the tributaries of the Ust-Ilimsk reservoir, which is particularly fed by the Angara .
