Usutuaije Maamberua

Usutuaije Maamberua (born August 5, 1957 in Tsumeb , South West Africa , today Namibia ) is a Namibian politician. He has been chairman of the opposition SWANU of Namibia (formerly South-West African National Union ) since 2007 and the only representative of his party in the Namibian National Assembly since the 2009 elections .

As a candidate, Maamberua received 0.56 percent of the vote in the 2014 presidential election .

Maamberua became a member of SWANU in 1977 and was in exile from 1979 to 1991 . At first, SWANU was a representative in West Germany from 1981 to 1982, before he took over the same office from 1986 to 1988 in Botswana . From 1996 to 2003 he was State Secretary in the Namibian Ministry of Finance .

Maamberua holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland , an MSc in Accounting and Management from the University of Southampton in England and an LLM in Business Law from the University of Namibia .
