Ute Scheub (* 1955 in Tübingen ) is a German journalist , political scientist and author.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1974, Ute Scheub studied political science , German language and literature and journalism at the Free University of Berlin and received her diploma in political science in 1980 and a doctorate in 2010. She lives with her family in Berlin.

Journalistic work

Ute Scheub works as a journalist and author for Tagesspiegel , Frankfurter Rundschau , Süddeutsche Zeitung and Der Freitag . She was one of the founding members of the taz , where she was an editor in the ecology department and then in the newsroom. She later worked in the local editorial offices in Hamburg and Berlin, most recently as a women's editor there. Since 1997 Ute Scheub has been working as a freelance journalist and publicist again.

Political commitment

In 1991 she was co-founder of the “Sheherazade Women's Campaign” on the occasion of the Gulf War , in 2003 co-founder of the German “Women's Security Council” on the occasion of the Iraq War and in autumn 2006 European coordinator of the global project “ PeaceWomen Across the Globe ”.
