Uttaradit (in Thai อุตรดิตถ์ ) is a city ( เทศบาล เมือง อุตรดิตถ์ ) in the Thai province of Uttaradit . It is the capital of the district ( Amphoe ) Amphoe Mueang Uttaradit and the province of Uttaradit in the northern region of Thailand .

Uttaradit has 33,985 inhabitants (as of 2012).

geography

Uttaradit is about 450 kilometers north of the capital Bangkok . The wide plain of the Mae Nam Nan ( Nan River ) contributes to a certain monotony of the surroundings.

history

Uttaradit is located in northern Thailand, which was fought over for centuries between Ayutthaya and Burma .

In 1967 the city center was almost completely destroyed by a large fire. The old part was rebuilt and a new part of the city was built at the same time.

Economy and Importance

The fertile plain of Maenam Nan allows intensive agriculture . Rice cultivation and orchards are very numerous.

Monument Phraya Phichai Dat Nak
